Yes2NS cardholders can check on the benefits available to them atwww.yes2ns.com.my.
Well the website yes2ns.com.my is no longer operational. I would assume yes2ns cardholders such as myself will no longer obtain any benefits from it. What a waste of time that was...
Yea so in the past whenever I get angry at something or someone, I'd usually just hold it in and sleep it off and wake up fresh. What if neither of the two is available? After a stressful session of HoN even at the expense of my alienating myself from friends, I tried to calm down... cool down... but what to do? I thought of trying some other games.... then analyzed that the games I wanted to play may be too stressful/infuriating to cool down to... Eat? Sleep? Have a breath of fresh air (is what I did). Reading a book ain't stressful either...
Then I thought... hrmm I don't really have an easy-going stress free hobby... Probably should start looking for one...
I just realized I haven't used alot of apps on my iTouch in a while so I decided to check on the app store for updates for them... 33 updates. It's been far too long since I last used it...
I haven't been going out (to class) so my iTouch usually spends most of it's time plugged in to my laptop and playing music off it. It's kinda starting to live the life of my iPod but still... it won't die/be forgotten anytime soon thanks to the apps. Well... it has more features than my iPod.
Don't know why but I was just reminded of the early days of the internet where people used to chat around using IRC. Yes, back in around 1995 I used to be on IRC (I think I was about 10 years old back then). I still remember my fav. channel #music for some reason. Maybe because there's a lot more people in there. It is also during this time where I learned multiple IRC commands and whatnots for me to download manga over IRC (way before there were manga readers and when these scanslators do not have the websites to host files/ internet was too slow to load page after page).
A few years after 1995~ I'm guessing around 1997~1999, there was ICQ.
Back then this was the facebook chat many use today. It has some similarities such as being able to send/receive messages ONLY when the user is online. Though for ICQ, after a few versions later they allowed offline messages. Truely an awesome feature IMO. Though, one of the most memorable thing about ICQ are the sounds which can be heard from the vid above. I couldn't find any regular video showcasing the sounds but if you've used ICQ frequently back in the day, you'll recognize most of the sounds used.
Moving on from ICQ, I had myself a Yahoo! account and was using it frequently. I can't really recall at the moment why I used it. Vaguely remembered playing a whole bunch of chess games on it (nope, not Yahoo pool as I wasn't introduced to it back then). I believe this was during the years 1999~2000. Even downloaded the Yahoo!Messenger but since I only used it for a short period of time, I couldn't really remember much about it other than the plethora of emoticons in the messenger.
Around 2000, having already gotten myself a hotmail account back in 1998~2000, I started using MSN Messenger (now called MSN Live Messenger/Live Messenger) even until this day. Don't really have much to say about this...I've been through a couple of phases of using this messenger such as the emoticon spamming, nudge spamming, custom emoticon spamming and even profile picture stealing. Now it seems that I'm hardly using it since most of the time I'll be on facebook but I would still prefer chatting on msn and often redirect my friends to chat over there.
2007 The year I joined facebook. I don't think back then facebook had facebook chat just yet. Probably around 2009 if I'm not mistaken. From what I've heard, many have abandoned the dedicated messengers and opted instead to chat through facebook/twitter. I've seen friends chatting over a facebook status update with total comments (chat log?) reaching up to 60 comments of just chit chatting. Well... I guess that's one way to go about messaging someone on facebook who isn't online.
Future? I'm not too sure. I'm predicting that facebook will soon dominate the internet chatting market since there was some news about Facebook buying over Skype. Facebook + Skype? Who knows what this would do...
Notable mentions :
Trillian
Used this once since I had to combine my MSN and Yahoo! messenger contacts. Gave up using it for about a month or so since I hated the interface and a lot of features from the MSN messenger/Yahoo! Messenger was not implemented in the program. As far as I can remember, it only sends/receives messages (no fancy custom emoticons) and it does not support offline messages (which was important for me back then).
Skype
Most people used to use Skype for internet calls... but recently I found out that there are a lot of my friends who uses it to message others. Usually my Skype wouldn't be on but recently I found myself keeping it on... Still hardly use it for messaging though there are occasional instances since some of my friends had moved to it.
I remember back in the days of the Nokia 3310 (even though I only had it for about 2-4 weeks). Back then we didn't have to worry about software updates. Whatever software you get out of the box is what you'll be using the whole lifespan of the mobile phone.
Then came a new generation of phones which enables you to update its software by downloading updates. Well this was only during my SE K800i phase where I had to download updates for my phone (Though I'm not sure what it actually updates)... At one point I even began to install custom drivers for it...
Then came the iPhone which gave us updates after updates through iTunes. As well as the Android platform. These updates aren't like the updates I got from my k800i. These are full updates with changelogs that describes what the updates do/fixes/add/remove. These updates may even optimize your phone to make it run better or complete tasks faster.
Sometimes, an update can be so huge, it's like owning a new phone after applying the update.
US President Obama just announced at 10:30 EST that Osama is dead after a raid.
Good/Bad? I'm neutral about it.... Yes they've killed him and many believed that justice has been done to everyone who was killed in numerous terrorist attacks through the years but what about his followers? I'm guessing they might plan a revenge plot and reading the news elsewhere, his 2nd in command is still alive and could very well be using Osama's death as a catalyst to strengthen his forces/ use it as means of an attack.
I just hope it stays peaceful and that this whole thing's over... but knowing history... we can't let our guards down just yet.
PS : It's hard to type/read "Obama" and "Osama" in an article without mixing up the names... I wonder if anyone/any news will make a typo~ Could just be me though...
Edit : It has happened~ a few news channels/papers has made the mistake~ Didnt bother to save the links though so just take my word for it~
