Nexus 4 vs Galaxy Note II
So I have been using my Nexus S for almost exactly 2 years now.
Back in December 2010 I purchased for myself the Google Nexus S, my first smartphone/ touchscreen phone.
After 2 years of stock gingerbread, ICS and finally Jellybean, Google has called it quits for the Android updates for my device. Heck, I've had a few problems with the phone (slow, battery issues, capacitive buttons). Figured it's now a good time to upgrade my phone.
I've set my eyes on the next gen Nexus device from Google-the Nexus 4.
Though it interests me, there's a few of flaws of the device when it was released.

Though it interests me, there's a few of flaws of the device when it was released.
- Same capacity as my current phone (16GB)
- Lack of bundled headset (my Nexus S headset is half ruined)
- Fragile glass back (haven't anyone learned from Apple's iPhone?!)
- Generally the same UI as my Nexus S just that it has a bigger screen, and will get future OTA updates first from Google (though what can Google add to this device?)
- Lack of bundled wireless charger
As compared to the Galaxy Note II which has almost the same specs,
- Bigger screen
- More productive with the S-pen
- It has the S pen
- It has a more user friendly interface
- Better processor (by 0.1 GHz)
- AMOLED screen
- microSD card slot for expendable storage
- FM radio
A few down sides I can think of,
- It's huge
- It feels plasticky
- It's using Samsung's TouchWiz
- Won't get Google Android updates immediately like the Nexus 4
Though if I do get the Galaxy Note II and not really like it, I can still pass it over to my younger sister who can probably make more use out of the artistic S pen.
Decisions decisions.....

So much from just a bronze medal
Congrats to Pandelela Rinong for gaining the bronze in the 2012 Olympics.
....BUT, what's with all these 'REWARDS' going out to her.
Yea, she's our first female and medal winner outside badminton but from the looks of it, she's getting too much attention and rewards compared to Chong Wei who won the Silver.
It's been over 3-4 months since the Olympics and people are still showering her with money, cars, sponsorships, etc.
She's 19 Years of age, there's a lot more that she can improve in her game for the future rather than spoiling her with gifts and rewards.
Take it easy with the gifts so that it will not get the better of her. A reward is something to motivate her to do better in the next competition but if everyone from every corner keeps giving her rewards like she's getting now, it seems as if she won the gold medal. Let her grow and if she does get the gold next time, she deserves it.

Aunty, you called the wrong number
Some auntie called my number
Aunty : Hi is this Cathay?
Me: No it's not, you got the wrong number
Aunty : May I speak to Cathay please?
Me : There's no Cathay here, you got the wrong number
Aunty : Who's number is this then?
Me thinking *Why the heck do you want to know??*
Me: This is MY number. You called the wrong number.
Aunty : This is not Cathays number?
Me : No, you called the wrong number
*Then aunty hung up*
..... How many times must I tell you "WRONG NUMBER" before you understand???

Supporting the player or supporting the rewards?
The whole of Malaysia turned their eyes to the TV and news hoping for glory of our badminton ace, Datuk Lee Chong Wei. The whole Malaysia was united and rooting for him hoping to bring gold....
But it seems to me that most of them have ulterior motives,
But it seems to me that most of them have ulterior motives,
- Public Holiday
- Free scoop of Baskin Robins Ice Cream
- Free nasi kandar meals,etc.
Facebook statuses calling for LCW to win to get public holidays and ice cream rather than the gold medal Malaysia's been yearning for. Seriously my fellow Malaysians...
Gold Medal > Public Holidays > Free Premium Ice Cream
"You've never had dates before?!"
So me and my friends were at an Italian restaurant and it was just after the Muslims break fast (about 8pm?) and they were serving dates as appetizers. I personally have never tried (or remember trying) dates before.
Funny thing was that I started announcing that I have not tried dates before which led to the response,
"YOU'VE NEVER HAD DATES BEFORE?!"
The first thing that came to mind was the forever alone meme...
Then came the part where I actually eat the dates, awkward moment as my friends started staring at me as I started biting pieces off it along with my expression on how sweet and unique the taste of the dates were.
Well... now that I have finally tried it, I doubt I'll be eating another one anytime soon. Does not suit my tastes.
Bonus awkward moment :
Waiter brought a canned drink and offered to pour it. My friend gladly accepted the offer and we all stared silently at the waiter pouring the canned drink slowly into the glass. He stopped halfway and mentioned how weird it was for all of us being so fascinated at someone pouring a drink into a glass.

I'm not happy...
neither to I feel sad.
I don't think I'm enjoying what I'm doing. Something is missing in my life.
A passion for something. Motivation. I feel like I'm just living my life waiting for the day I die doing nothing.
I need to find something to keep myself motivated. Something long term which gives me pleasure and satisfaction.

I just not sure....
When I got this job offer (help desk specialist), I was happy... 1 week after working.... now I'm having second thoughts...
Not sure if I don't like my job or just don't like working...
I'll see how things go for another 2-3weeks. It's not the job I expected or intended to get but I was having hopes of liking it for what I am doing. Helping people with their computer problems. So far I don't get the same satisfaction as I usually do when fixing/trouble-shooting the customer's problems.
Maybe it's because I don't get to actually see the satisfaction of the face of the customer? Maybe because I'm dealing with ah bengs? Maybe because I've solved too much cases a day that it doesn't feel as satisfying as I thought it'd be?
I don't feel the joy to geek around with computers as much as I used to...

I want a girl with a short skirt and a long jacket~
I want a girl with a mind like a diamond
I want a girl who knows what's best
I want a girl with shoes that cut
And eyes that burn like cigarettes
I want a girl with the right allocations
Who's fast and thorough
And sharp as a tack
She's playing with her jewelry
She's putting up her hair
She's touring the facility
And picking up slack
I want a girl with a short skirt and a lonnnng jacket......
I want a girl who gets up early
I want a girl who stays up late
I want a girl with uninterrupted prosperity
Who uses a machete to cut through red tape
With fingernails that shine like justice
And a voice that is dark like tinted glass
She is fast and thorough
And sharp as a tack
She's touring the facility
And picking up slack
I want a girl with a short skirt and a lonnnnng.... lonnng jacket
I want a girl with a smooth liquidation
I want a girl with good dividends
At Citibank we will meet accidentally
We'll start to talk when she borrows my pen
She wants a car with a cupholder arm rest
She wants a car that will get her there
She's changing her name from Kitty to Karen
She's trading her MG for a white Chrysler La Baron
I want a girl with a short skirt and a lonnnnggggggggg jacket

Bomohs/ Witch Doctors/Chinese Doctors/ Farmers How did they exist?
Ever wondered how traditional medicine came about? A facebook status of a friend of mine mentioned bomohs(Malay witch doctor?) and it got me thinking. How do these people decide on how to heal you? In Malaysia, recently there has been many incidents of bomohs raping their young female customers with claims that by having intercourse with the bomohs, it'll cleanse them of any ailments. Didn't go well for the bomohs as they were then arrested.
Now lets say for these 'doctors', a long long long time ago when they first started their way of trade. I'm writing based on the more commonly perceived witch doctors in Africa/ traditional chinese doctors. So there they are, in the forest and then one day decided to take this weed, crush it, boil it and feed/apply it to patients. What if it was poison? I doubt back then they have the time and resources to figure out the medicinal benefits of herbs/rhino horns. It's like it all just went into their heads from their imaginations and finding the more rarest random plant/exotic animal and turned them into 'medicine'. Like how farmers go "Hey, let me pull on my cows tits and drink the juice that comes out of it!".
How??? Why did they do that?? What got into their heads?? I guess this can be a topic of conversation with friends at a mamak~

Zombies don't scare me like they used to
When I was a kid... I used to have nightmares about zombies...
Now I have dreams where I'm a hero killing off zombies.
...and to some girls, when they were kids, they probably have nightmares about werewolves and vampires.
Now...................
....Damn you twilight!

Fake Dr. Dre Beats
The Monster manufactured Dr. Dre Beats headphones seem to be the craze in Malaysia... but for the wrong reasons. I was in Times Square yesterday and I noticed that these headphones were being sold for RM30-50 for a pair(with various colors). Yes, they are the counterfeit ones. I took a look at one of the demo units, looks authentic and the build quality looks solid. Much like my sis's earphones her friend bought for her birthday last year.
(My sis got a Beats Tour for her birthday last year from the friends. The box and everything looks ori for the most parts but once you start listening to music on it... it literally shits music into you ears. It's horrible making me think of the present her friends bought her is a knock of... which I still think it is since it is now rotting in one of her drawers after the earpiece broke off)
So there I was helping my mom getting a new screen protector for her new iPhone4S and I noticed this middle-aged looking lady trying out the headphones. At the end of the day she bought it. I thought,
"Hmmmm maybe she's getting it for her son/daughter.... boy would they be disappointed"
Then another guy came over and took a look at them. He tried it on and even plugged the demo unit into his mp3 player. I thought he'd realize that it would sound horrible... he bought one for himself. How could this guy who seem to know about headphones and music quality to test the headphones on the spot succumb to buying it???
I then recalled in lowyat.net forums that someone was selling off fake beats headphones. I don't remember how much it costs but it was definitely more than RM30-50. People were bidding for it, people were shunning it and saying that you should buy the original. What struck me was when the seller said something along these lines,
"People buy it mostly for the looks and fashion. This would be a good fashion accessory."
Much like how Skullcandy's are in the US (used for fashion IMO), these fake beats are being sold for most probably the same reason. An original beats in Malaysia from what I can remember costs about RM1.5k-3k which is way more than what Americans pay for a pair of overpriced sub-par headphones (USD200-500). It seems to be an Asian thing. A privilege. I would say the same people that buys these are probably the same ones who buys iPhones/iPads and are Apple crazy based on my observations.
So what can be done? Nothing. Since the companies that actually sell better headphones don't get the recognition among the masses because they did not invest much into their advertising as compared to Apple and Monster (i H.A.T.E. Monster brand). Enough to cause majority of the Asian/Malaysian market to buy/crave to own an iPhone/iPad and to buy Monster Beats headphones based on Monster's advertisements even though they're fakes.

Touch n Go? Whose fault was it.
A week ago, my dad took out the tng card from the car without telling me. Knowing that I was gonna use the car for driving to/from work. I found out that the card was gone when I was at the toll in the tng lane.
Luckily for me, I had an extra card and managed to go through. I didn't say anything to him nor blamed him. I just let it slide.
A week later, he complained to me that there was only RM3.50 left in the card he took and blamed me for not telling him that there was only RM3.50 left in the card.

PS :Yea it may be my fault for not telling him that there was only RM3.50 left. But it took him a week to say that to me and he took it without telling me. At least he had the card with him. If I hadn't got an extra card with me, I'd be holding back traffic.

So much racism in Malaysia
Facebook pages, youtube videos... racism everywhere. And they are using those who are trying to free this country from racism into a racist thing.
Sigh... and it's not just one race, it's every of the three major races in Malaysia.
Makes me thing that it won't be as simple as it will be....

Death of Celebrities (Singers); Opinions
Whitney Houston? She died? "Lemme buy her album in support her"
The fuck for? She's dead! The only people that profits from those money now are the record labels/ distributors. If you truly supported her then you should've bought the albums and supported her way before her death. It's Micheal Jackson all over again.
The good people as usual taking advantage of the situation by redistributing random crap related to the artists. Eg, Steve Jobs biography. Steve Jobs's bobble head figure.
Whitney Houston's albums being increased in price 4-6 hours just after her death was announced.
Scumbags...

Asians are so full of themselves
Asians(or people in general) are so full of themselves.
Put a Chinese playing in a basketball league in America and the whole chinese population goes bananas over him.
Put a Harvard grad and Asian into the basketball game and all of a sudden every single asian (mostly chinese) goes crazy over this 'phenomenon'. China and Taiwan are then found debating on claiming him for their own.
Facebook's updates about Jeremy Lin has sky rocketed in the past 2 weeks. Friends I have who has NEVER talked about basketball are suddenly interested in it. All because there was this Asian who appeared out of no where.
Now don't just look at sports or just icons. In general, maybe food, traditions, politics, way of life, etc.
Look at the Chinese, Malays, Indians, Indonesians, Filipinos, Vietnamese's, Singaporeans etc. Notice how these people tend to fight against one another trying to claim what's good from another person's success. But once something derogatory is on the platter, they'll deny its relation with it.
Malaysian Malays vs Indonesians over the Nasi Lemak and Rendang
Malaysian Chinese vs Singaporean Chinese over the 'Yum seng', 'Yee Sang' and Hainanese Chicken Rice
Malaysian Indians vs Singaporean Indians Roti Canai vs Roti Pratha (Meh.... I couldn't think of a good example...)
Glory chasers I say. Just like most Man United supporters who only support ManU because of it's recent success in the past 20 years. It makes them feel good. It makes them feel proud. It makes them arrogant and smug. Something a few of my non-Man United supporting friends noticed and what most of my Man United supporting friends denies.

First world problems : Too much spaghetti sauce
First world problems :
Made a pot full of spaghetti sauce (for 5-6 people) and just enough spaghetti for 3 people. The sauce was supposed to last until dinner (was gonna cook more spaghetti later). Told my dad he can have some.
He ate the whole damn pot of spaghetti sauce and left a enough spaghetti for the left over sauce.

What if the president of the USA is gay?
And then there wouldn't be a 'first lady', will it be a 'first man'?
But isn't the president the 'first man' so that would make his husband the 'second man'?

The line between reality and dreams.... Happy Valentines Day
Okay... so I've been having dreams that felt so real the last few days. I've begun to question myself, which is real and which isn't. Trying to put the pieces together to ensure that it was all just a dream. It's just that it molded so well into my everyday life that it all seemed too real.
...and Happy Valentines Day.

Racism in football
With the recent Luis Suarez racism hopefully brought to a close, I just thought of something....
What if those who opposes Suarez's racism are actually extremist/racists themselves? Only using this racism because it is beneficial to them (Eg. Man United fans). Where else when people point out that they themselves are racist (and it is clear as day), they deny it being racist and instead probably say something along the lines of, "I'm merely standing up for myself. That's not racist."

Irony-ception : racist white ang pows
http://www.malaysiakini.com/news/187768
Didn't know? Had you be involved with more of these events you would've found out. After so many years why now (before the elections)?
And if you notice the first comment,
this guy is being racist/chinese supremacist and fighting over a malay supremacist. Another case of racism vs racism =.=
PS : Heck I didn't even know white ang pows were a given during funerals... Still could've been safe by just giving a red ang pow. Since "ang" = "red".
PS/2 : This news could be some chinese propaganda stirring up hate as well.

this guy is being racist/chinese supremacist and fighting over a malay supremacist. Another case of racism vs racism =.=
PS : Heck I didn't even know white ang pows were a given during funerals... Still could've been safe by just giving a red ang pow. Since "ang" = "red".
PS/2 : This news could be some chinese propaganda stirring up hate as well.

Confidence in lying to your brain
Noticed a bunch of posts on facebook/9gag/reddit about people posting stuff on how awesome it is to be single, how awesome they really are, how romantic they will be, etc.
To some it gives them strength to live on. The self confidence booster. Yet, to some, it just makes them an ignorant person making them think that they are already perfect and anyone who says otherwise are idiots.
*Douche bag mode*
In reality, if you stop to think for a bit, you are not any of those. Stop pretending to yourself, get out and do something about it than living in an imaginary perfect world.

Freedom? Internet Censorship? Oh the Irony of Malaysian news
Americans can openly fight against it without much fear.
Malaysians? You get arrested or you 'buat tak tahu' (act don't know).
Everything then falls on deaf ears

Dialing the wrong number
Think about it. In the movies or maybe in reality, there are bomb makers that use cellphones as triggers for bombs (remember the scene from the Dark Knight where the Joker wants his phone call). What if someone mistakenly dialed that number? The caller would've set off that bomb unintentionally.
Lesson?
Lesson?
- Don't use cellphones as triggers for your bombs.
- Make sure to always call the right number.
- Girls, don't give away a fake number when a guy asks for yours~

B-b-b-bomb the PM?

Student held over PM bomb threat?
Student held over PM bomb threat?
GEORGE TOWN: A 24-year-old university student has been detained for questioning after threatening to bomb Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s helicopter in a Facebook posting.
George Town OCPD Asst Comm Gan Kong Meng said the Universiti Sains Malaysia student was brought in to the district police headquarters in Patani Road for questioning at about 1.30pm yesterday.
In the latest status update on his Facebook profile, it was written “najib is coming to our campus ... let’s bomb his helicopter...”
Mehh, I think he meant to say "He is duhh bohmb" or "His heli's duhhh bomb".
Still, be it really with malicious intent, it seems that Malaysia has a lot of pyromaniacs.
There's Molotov cocktail experts, pipe bomb experts, fireworks experts, meriam buluh (bamboo cannons) experts, dog beating experts, etc. Only thing on their mind are destruction and violence (to get their thoughts through) rather than peace.

I need a job but you won't give me one because I have no experience
http://forlackofabettercomic.com/?id=107
The comic in the link above explains exactly how I feel everytime I look for a job.
I want experience. Employer wants someone with experience.
I can't get experience because employer refuses to hire me because I don't have experience.
How is anyone supposed to get experience if no one hires them because they don't have any experience?!

General Elections Malaysia 2012
My opinion, the current government SHOULDN'T be the ones who choose the date of the elections. The date should be set on stone month's or a year before rather than the current government delaying the elections because they wanted more time for reforms, fulfilling promises that should've been fulfilled long before the elections and because they want to garner more voters.
How is this a fair election if you can have all the time in the world to prepare but once you're done, you'd probably won't allow the other candidates to prepare for theirs. Just sayin'

1Malaysia this, 1Malaysia that. Enough is enough!
1 this, 1 that...I'm sick and tired of all these "1Malaysia" slogans creeping into everything I see around me.
1Malaysia, yea it was nice at first... then everything/everyone tries to put the "1" into their products.
"We are #1", "The only 1 choice for you (ads for products/services)"
"1Malaysia meal"
"1Malaysia social website"
"1Malaysia email"
"1Malaysia anti-virus (1Machine)"
"1Malaysia restaurant"
"1Malaysia clinics"
"Kedai 1Malaysia (1Malaysia grocery shop)"
Anymore of this 1Malaysia stuff and our country's gonna be like North Korea where almost everything is by the government.
"1Malaysia wifi, 1Malaysia internet, 1Malaysia channel, 1Malaysia clothing line, 1Malaysia haircut, 1Malaysia toilets, 1Malaysia cars, 1Malaysia movies, 1Malaysia taxis, 1Malaysia petrol kiosks.... etc"
Please. Know when to stop. Enough is enough. This publicity for 1Malaysia has gone way too far.
We are Malaysians. We don't need reminders every time and everywhere to tell us to respect one another regardless of what backgrounds we come from.

EDIT: She has deleted my comment and blocked me from Facebook.
On the bright side, it's probably best that I stay away from idiots like her.

Weird Dreams : Cold Darkness
It was dawn. Skidding around on ice with my sneakers.... then darkness descended. And I was walking around aimlessly in the dark...
Woke up, then dreamed I was being attacked by a cursed/possessed 1990s' personal computer.

Happy New Year 2012
Is it the end of the world? The final year?
People celebrate the new years with fireworks. But I see more lights from people holding up their cameras/cellphones taking videos of the event instead of celebrating and going wild.
