A few of you might've known that I've got this 'unique' fear. That's right, fear of fishes.
Though, you notice that I do eat fish and find that ironic. I think what scares me most is a fish's head. That doesn't leave out the abdominal portion of the fish as I tend to jitter at the sight of it.
My family members know, whenever we eat out at a chinese restaurant and order fish, I always shift the plate so that the fish's head points else where. But, the body of a FULLY cooked fish doesn't scare me much.
What about sushi? Yes, it's fish meat but you don't actually see anything that resembles the fish one bit. It's just a slab of meat much like your typical poultry meats.
So when and why did I develop this fear? I can only think of three reasons period.
1) I used to eat fish eyes. Yes, use my lil 5 year old fingers and dig out their eyes and suck em til all that's left is the middle core.
2)I tend to play with fish alot and brought them out of water. Seeing them flip helplessly. Pity could've turned into fear.....
3)I'm just too lazy to clean up aquariums and handle fishes so I came up with an excuse but turned to reality....

Streamyx TMnut compared to the states.
As consumers, we can't help but compare one product to another similar product. In this case, I'm taking our very own monopolizing, money grabbing TMnut's Screamyx.
Right, from the picture above dated 25th August 2008, I'd like to draw attention to the 4mbps package. RM268 per month. That's about USD 80 a month. I've done some digging around, and found that the MAX a consumer had to pay per month for internet (8MBPS twice the speed of what TMnut offers) is about USD 60 a month.
Now don't we Malaysians feel even more screwed over?

Discrimination, Racism, and Facts?
What determines if a person is a racist/discriminates?
Take this example,
When I play dota. After countless games, I've come to a conclusion that 99.9% of players from China are leavers. This isn't a fact I'm making up to discriminate China, it's a fact that they've shown and proven to me. Yet, I've been called racist by some because I do not have proof of it. My argument is based upon my own experience with no official records.
So am I discriminating/ being racist or just laying out the facts?

New Place, New Aparment, New Internet, New Neighbours, New Internet
So I moved in to a place I can finally call 'home' after being homeless since May 12th (I think). It's not readily furnished as Frederiksen Court(empty) but it's no doubt larger and has a better location for food and groceries.
About a 15 minute walk, 5 minutes cycle, 10 minutes bus ride (including walking to the bus stop and on the bus, not including time needed to wait for the bus), I'd say it's fairly close to campus compared to other locations. I'm quite happy with it... though I'll probably not like it in the winter.
One of the necessities is high speed internet. Luckily for us, a 2mbps line is provided. The speeds was constant and stable the first 2 days I moved in.... until I heard some thumping on the floor above....... then internet here has become unstable and irregular. At times it can be good, at times it can be worst than Malaysia's very own streamyx. I was so eager to get back to the states to get away from Streamyx and found out that streamyx had followed me in a different form. Anyway, I'm guessing it's the neighbours' upstairs that's hogging up the internet causing majority of the building to experience good ol' Malaysian broadband.
So what to do? I can't play dota smoothly, I can't surf the internet fast.... time to get a new dedicated modem for ourselves. At only $20 a month for a whoppin 8MBPS (that's 8 times faster than Malaysia's crappy streamyx and RM30 cheaper than what we're paying TMNUT) without any throttling! TMNUT cheap? I don't think so.
Another thing I must mention, the internet here uses cable lines (the ones you plug into the back of your TV). TMNUT should've thought of something like that... but I guess they decided that normal copperlines are sufficient enough for them to profit off Malaysians.....

Chicago's O'hare Airport is close to Hell
On my journey here, I had to board 4 planes.
1st, KLIA to Changi Airport (Singapore)
2nd, Changi to Narita Airport (Tokyo)
Note : There was a baby beside me through the 7 hour flight
3rd, Narita to O'hare (Chicago)
Note : Another baby beside me... for 12 hours
4th, O'hare to Des Moines
Note : Yet another baby passenger travelling beside me
3 out of 4 flights with crying babies~joy
but that's just the tip of the iceberg...
Hell began when I touched down to Chicago at 4:20pm local time.
Upon reaching customs, I was greeted with a line comparable to the great wall of china x10
Gotta line up either ways. My stomach was aching, the line kept growing. Can't turn back to head for the toilet now.....
1 hour later..... I'm finally half way there........ Biatch, another 1 hour and it's finally my turn... BUT, the inspector is slow, always leaving his posts. ARGHH!!!
2 hours and 30 mins prior to landing it's finally my turn only to be told rudely by the inspector (I guess all the inspectors are rude.... indirectly saying "GET OUT IMMIGRANTS!!!") to refill my form.
Well, if they had made the form more user friendly I wouldn't be refilling it. Especially the part where it says "For government official ONLY" (they wanted me to fill that side as well)
Finally I've gotten through customs, looking back, the line was still as long as when I first reached. Always thought that they could've gotten more staff to keep things moving along faster... but no..... people were moving at about 5 people per 2 minutes.... and there's about 300 over people in line. I would've taken a picture of the scene if cameras wasn't prohibited in the area. I'm just glad I'm off and away.... people were getting impatient. Many were trying to cut in. A fight almost broke out. Tensions were high. Many mothers were on the brink of fainting while carrying their babies...
So, my 4 hour break in O'hare has been reduced to 3.5 hour of panicking in line hoping I could make it for my connecting flight. Efficiency at its best brought to you by Chicago O'hare International Airport.
Well it's about 7pm... my connecting flight departs at 8.08pm and boarding begins at 7.38pm
Like many before and after me, we're running looking for our bags which was supposed to be collected about 3 hours ago. Upon collecting the bags, I had to run from one end of the terminal to the other.... From my past experience... there was gonna be another long line through security check. I was expecting the worst; I'd might have to board another plane probably the next day...
Lucky for me, the line wasn't as long as I expected and made it in time.

Haze yet again 2008
It's that time of the year again.
Thanks to the hot weather and our friends from Indonesia who couldn't bother to put out fires or to those that start fires, the haze is back again in Malaysia for it's annual visit.
Every year we'll experience this. Every year we complain. Every year I'll play this song.
I gotta add as well. I've been sick with a bad flu and cough the past few days. It's not just me as many are falling sick as well thanks to the haze.
Ribuan Terima Kasih Indonesia (Many Thanks to Indonesia)

Bye Blueserver
I'm not sure when, but I'll say it's 2nd August 2008.
Blueserver v3 has finally closed its doors.
Being a member since blueserverV2, around 2004, I've met many people. Made many friends, Pwned many noobs.
Among the clans I've joined (As far as I can remember)
In Blueserver V2:
Clan JPD
Clan JPD2 (Because we screwed up the first one)
In Blueserver V3:
Clan JPD2
Clan JPD
Clan JPD3 (because we screwed up making the other two....)
Clan FAN (Friends Across the Natio)
Clan xTc
So what else can I say? My last game in blueserver was somewhere in the first week of August 2007.
Met many noobs, met many pros, but it's time to move on.
I'm now playing in Garena (after moving from Battle.net games) but during my 3+ years with blueserver.
Thanks for the memories. Goodbye

It's not that cold after all....
Last year, I complained about how cold things were in Ames. Looking back, I can't believe I said that and that I should be shot for making that remark...
http://kyoske86.blogspot.com/2007/09/freezing.html
"The wind is about 33km/h at some point of the day. To give you a perspective on how strong that is, imagine a wind blowing at you and you felt like it could push you back if you were on a rollerblade/skateboard. Now add that wind power with the temperature of 3 degrees celcius. Yes, it's THAT cold."
Yea.... brrr~~ Apparently I haven't experienced the chilling weather of -28C and winds up to 40km/hr... (back in January).

All.YOUR.Electronic.Devices.Are.Belong.To.Us
Right....here's the source for my outburst
Now let me summarize, DHS (Department of Homeland Security) for the United States announced on August 1st 2008 that they are implementing a new system where they are able to confiscate any electronic devices belonging to tourists going in and out of the country/ border, indefinitely.... on a random basis.
A rundown on the definition of an 'electronic device' by them~
"An electronic device is defined as "any device capable of storing information in digital or analog form" including hard drives, compact discs, DVDs, flash drives, portable music players, cell phones, pagers, beepers, and videotapes."
Right. So they're saying that you could be bringing in or out information that could threaten the US. I say bullshit.
If they have all the time in the world to thought this up, I would assume they'd be smart enough to think that this method of 'security' as a MAJOR FLAW. Yeah that's right.
The INTERNET.
Yea, if I wanna destroy the US, I'd take the plane all the way from ****** all the way to the states, waiting in line, sitting for **** hours in the air plane just to deliver an all important message OR I could go online and send that message in an instant.
I mentioned something regarding the iPod as an iBomb in my previous blog about how an iPod was believed to be rigged up as a bomb. Seems that 'scare' is going on again.
PS : It was not mentioned when this will be implemented. I'm hoping it hasn't and wont be cuz it's just a waste of tax money (Which I paid as well while I was working in the states and buying all their TAXABLE products/services)

Memories (Cursed by the toilet)
Yea, I was reading some of my posts in the old blog and found this......
At the LRT station, as i was done using the toilet (to take a pee incase you're asking...), after i was done.... I washed my hands and this guy walked up to me.... "May i know the time?" he asked. I showed him my watch... He then looked at me funny.... "Where do you live?", "What is your name?" .......
From that point onwards.. i know this is bad... He's probably the Micheal Jackson of Malaysia... though he speaks like an Iranian, looks like an Iranian too (no offence to the straight Iranian people).
I kept quiet pretending i dont know english.. he was puzzled and so was I. Then later.. he asked.."Do you wanna have fun?".... OKAY.... WTF are you trying to say??!?!. Before I let him say another word, I walked out of the toilet... As i looked behind, he was pointing at his zipper...
Thank god I wasnt molested.
Bad memories indeed. Thankfully that was the first and hopefully the last time such thing happen to me

Oily business in Malaysia (TMnut bashing)
Referring to my old blog post,(March 4th 2006) we can see that oil prices back then increased.
Now look at their excuses. Yes, I've mentioned it then but I would like to remind myself and everyone else how they run the country like they're reading off a manual.
"We suggest the nation to bear with this and spend wisely" - Someone from the higher ups
"....we suggest usage of public transportations"
Sounds familiar? Yeap.... that's what they said this year after the price increased early June 2008.
Well, similarities with TMnut's customer service indeed. After all... TMnut used to be controlled under the government.
I also mentioned,
Let's say this goes on for 5 years~ our KL skies will still be covered in grey smoke. Probably worse (darkish grey). Why?There are no cars~ and the taxi service probably went out of bussiness.
Busses. Apparently thanks to the promotion of public transportations, the whole of KL is jammed with busses in every corner. Bus drivers fighting around like how the taxi drivers we know today.
Not only that~ we know that busses create more pollution than cars~ Thus explains why they air isnt getting any cleaner than it is now~
So~ kudos! We have more busses in the future and in the end~ bus prices will increase and people will have to start using bicycles all over again.
Right. Current conditions of Malaysia's public transportation hasn't changed abit. More people (yea Ive said it 2 years ago and I shall say it again), are using public transportations. More people are complaining. For crying out loud! If you're gonna increase oil prices, you should've expected people will opt to use public transportations for a cheaper alternative to save money.
Another situation that reminds me of TMnut. Screamyx lagging, screamyx's bandwidth being used up by users. DAMN, if you promise us 1mbps broadband and expect about 100,000 people to sign up, at least ensure that there's enough bandwidth to hold up to 120,000.
Also, after many complaints, what do they do? Throttle us. Yea. Thanks a lot TMnut. If the government follows, I predict in the near future, the prices for public transportation will increase (much like how tolls were put up almost EVERYWHERE to reduce cars on the road).
A few years ago, the government sponsored about RM1.6BILLION to upgrade TMnut's internet services. Now, no update.
Last month, the SAME news was published with the same amount. I find this wierd. I shall leave all speculations to whoever who may read this.
Oh, by the way. I have to mention that I did a research(with a report) about this issue in Malaysia recently(TMnut's throttling) .
I can't wait til an ideal Malaysia is born without all these troubles..... 2020? Not at the rate we're going.....

McDonalds of the past
Remember the time when you were once a kid (for those born in 1980s or very early 90s), you watch TV gleaming with joy after watching... a commercial of McDonalds and friends.
Looking at how the handkerchief magically floats up the golden arch. How magically the broom sweeps by itself. How alive those burgers were you'd actually thought it's alive. Yeah those were they days.
Those were also the days when the existence of other McDonald characters, such as the Hamburglar. I wish I could find those toys again but unfortunately I assumed my parents had thrown them away T_T
Or how about these play doh sets? Somehow I recalled myself eating the playdohs for some reason and I hope that's just a dream... Thinking of it reminded my tongue of the weird taste...
Also besides these playdoh sets, there's something similar to this but you use real food, yes, REAL food to make your very own crappy mini mcdonald products.
There's a juice maker (pour in juice to tank and put cup below, turn tap), burger maker(bread cutter that cuts Gardenia bread to circles, beef/chicken patty maker that supposedly minces the COOKED meat so you can put it to the patty maker that shapes the mince meat to patties) and etc.
Well, the closest thing I could find was this mcFlurry maker. (Though the real thing looks more similar to the play doh sets above)
