Let it snow let it snow~ (Someone woke me up......not)
Girl sobs in a car about setting off the fire alarm while her friend tries to control her own laughter.
One of the funniest things I've seen in a long time!
"So many people do bad things, and I didn't mean to"
"Maybe I'll just sweep... I'LL SWEEP THE FLOOR!!"
"I just wanted to make it snow!"
**Back Story**
Apparently, she wanted to make the hallway appear that it had snow in it, so she decided to use a fire extinguisher (this is something that her dad has successfully done in the past). Instead of there just being a "little poof", the entire hallway filled with chemicals that caused the fire alarm to go off in the middle of the night during finals week.
Now this is her in the car upset that everyone at Alpha Chi (the sorority she wants to be in and presumably those who live where the fire alarm went off) hates her. She explains how she isn't a bad person and it was just an accident.

Let it snow let it snow let it snow
A winter storm went by Ames last night causing the total snow accumulation to be about 1 feet thick.
Sounds exciting to me but for those still taking their exams, enjoy walking through that snow to ya exam halls.

The state of the world.
It seems that looks is everything. Even if you have the talent to do something, it'll be pointless unless you're presentable. The case here being in the Beijing Olympics a girl who was meant to sing what I think to be China's national anthem was replaced by a lip-syncer all because she doesn't look good enough to be presented.
So are they saying that most of the people on the media aren't really who they are?
Take some of the magazines into consideration. Have you seen those models on the cover of the magazines? Have you seen them without the makeup/ photoshop effects?(I'm sure some of you do).
So what can we conclude about this? The world is full of lies? People want to be lied to?

It'z the finals!!!
Yea, I'm straying off studying again. How I wish that the library is open right now so I could escape from the forces tying me to the computer I'm typing this on now....
How I wish I have a better discipline over myself =.=
This semester there'll be only 3 exams.
Che 381 (Completed yesterday -IMO did okay)
I should mention that waking up and taking the bus at 7am for this exam on the worst day of winter so far this year (-33C windchills) was harder than the exam itself.... I'll be better prepared for the coming papers.
Chem 331 (In about 6 hours)
Phys222 (Tomorrow!)
Also not to forget a group presentation and report to hand in
Che356 (Thursday morning)

Fire Alarmsssssss
So the next day, (yesterday putting myself in the shoes of Monday) I was in Sweeney trying to get some progress done on the 356 design project... 10 mins later, the fire alarm went off.....

FREEZING RAIN!?
Yea, freezing rain. Never liked it.
What is it? It rains liquid water and freezes on the ground causing slippery roads and sidewalks. Many students fall. Health center packed with fallen students. Idiots trying to drift. Accidents increase. And hopefully, class is canceled.
By the way, just to tell how bad and slippery it is, right now there are people playing ice hockey outside.... This is no joke....

Exams? What exams?!
Today, I had an Organic Chemistry exam.
I was NOT prepared for this... Sitting down nerve wrecked hoping the exam would be easy this time around. No. It was same as always.
Staring blankly at the paper hoping my brain can come up with something after the whole night studying, I started to gave up hope.
30 mins into the exam, a miracle occurred... someone pulled the fire alarm forcing the whole class to leave the hall. Exam papers have to be returned completed or not. Thus, this exam is invalid.
Might be a bad thing to some others who studied really hard for it, but for me... it saved my grades (so to speak...)

Congrats to Obama (It's a little late)
Doomsday Clock
Birthday's comin up in just a few hours. It's supposed to be a happy time for me. Awaiting the 'surprise' birthday cake and wishes, getting drunk on Patron but this year's different....
Looking back at Kudutx's birthday, it wasn't pleasant. He was wasted with flour, water, whipped cream, soft drinks and maple syrup.
Zi Ting's birthday earlier this month was worst. Caught off guard at the parking lot, he was showered with toothpaste (in his ass as well), maple syrup, flour, and etc. It's as if we were trying to top off kudut's birthday bash.
In a few hours time, it'll be my turn. Apparently I assume they're gonna try to achieve something even worst/better than the other two birthday bashes. I am not looking forward to it.
I'll be having an exam at 7.50am (about 6 hours from now)... then I have 13hours to plan my escape/ write my will.
The clock ticks.....

Dota Tournament 2008 By GameRenegades
A week prior to this, I didn't really show any interest in joining the tournament. Some of us (Kenggee) was already 'training' with 'his team' to enter the tournament. My team, well... I had no idea if I even had a team to begin with. So I didn't even bother.
Thursday, 2 days before the tourney, everyone was sort of mentioning about it. I didn't really show much interest. Not even when during the Halloween party on Friday night did I gave any second thoughts about not joining it even after Wooi Hau invited me to his team.
Saturday 10.30am,
I received a call from ZiTing or was it Kenggee to join their team in the competition. Knowing that there's gonna be 2 Malaysian teams, I feel that I can't be left out. So I got up and ready for the tournament...
Saturday 12:00pm,
Arrived at the designated location only to find out the organizers was late. Also to find out that we'd need to bring out own rig (as usual for US Lan Parties but many of us didn't know about that. I knew). We met Ped-ro a cocky player who won the last tournament against us (bad memories which I'd rather not recall) with his team of a very cocky korean (I think it was him)...
We can't lose to them. I refuse to lose to them.
1:30pm,
Dota tournament starts at 2pm, my team had went out for lunch and to buy me lunch. We're running out of time. Then again, organizers are still managing the brackets. By this point, I found out my team is short of one player. We need another player and had to borrow from the other Malaysian team.
3:00 pm
Apparently it took that long for us to start due to the other team having problems setting up their warcraft versions... Never the less, the match started with , Me, Eu Roy, Wooi Hau, Kar Leong and birtday boy Zi Ting.
Tournament is to be played out as knockout stages in a best out of 3 match.
We'd decided on our roles before each game.
Me : All round supporter
Eu Roy : Balanced
Wooi Hau : Nuker/Spammer/Ks King
Kar Leong : Farmer/Late Gamer
Extra : depending on situation
Round 1 First match :
Mode : Captains mode
Me : Ogre Magi
Extra Player : Zi Ting birthdayboy (Warlock)
The match isnt very hard as they had noobs on their team which consists of a low level Anti Mage , a feeding Nessaj and lack of teamwork was all it takes for their whole team to leave the game by the 28th minute.
Round 1 Second Match :
Mode : Random Draft
Me : OmniKnight
Extra Player : Lan Yeng (Warlock)
Apparently the other team who was willingly agreed to captains mode in the first match decided to opt to random draft mode. Probably thinking that their loss was because we had a better team from having to choose the heroes we wanted. That wasn't the case. They were thrashed so badly resulting in the whole team leaving again by the 30th minute mark.
Round 2 First Match :
Mode : Captains Mode
Me : Ogre Magi
Extra Player : Lan Yeng
This time we were up against the organizer's team. We expected a challenge as we'd firgured they'd definitely be formidable opponents if they are organizing this event. They're definitely better than the first round team but still fall short of being a threat to our team. Also, they had better sportsmanship than the previous team who left before the game ended.
Round 2 Second Match :
Opposing team forfeited
We advance to the final round
At this point, around 6pm, the other Malaysian team who had a free ticket to the semi finals finally played their first match. It was against team JFA, the champions of the previous tournament.
Team Malaysia was Sky, ZiTing, Kengee, Kudut and LanYeng. Sadly they were thrashed and thus team JFA advances to the finals against Team Malaysia 2 (aka Team Roy =.=).
Watching the game, team JFA's Luna was a fucking cocky bastard dropping items and trash talking all the way. We (team roy) need to let them know their place.
We all took an hour break for pizza before the finals. Being such good friends and great supporters, team Malaysia 1 went off for steaks.
The finals approaches, both teams are worn out and agreed to play just ONE match to decide the winner.
FINALS :
Mode : Captains Mode
Lineup Sentinal:
Me - Treant
Eu Roy - POTM
Wooi Hau - Zeus
Kar Leong - Spectre
Kenggee - Lina
Lineup Scourge:
Ped-ro - Puck
Baron - Nerubian Assasin
The cocky Luna - Shadow Fiend
Unknown - Warlock
Unknown - Omniknight
Match started with a first blood onto Puck which made the whole team happy inside but didn't really express it. The whole game was evenly matched with score difference is around 2 kills/deaths. One mistake was all it takes to bring our team down. We prevailed, endured and was patient.
Eyes and wards were planted, zeus and spectre using their ultimates to find out their locations. Having experienced against their team in the past, we know that they LOVE to gank heroes altogether( 5 of them moves together) but we had the upper hand, the eyes of God (eyes/wards/zeus/spectre). Alot of time was wasted on their part as they ran around searching for victims only to find none and wasted precious exp if they had just farmed.
In addition to that, NA who was hunting heroes at our neutrals was hardly doing anything since there were eyes watching to see if he does come.
About mid point of the game, we almost lost but was lucky as they pulled back from attacking the base. Then 50th minute, everything changed, having a refresher orb on a treant, their team is practically sitting ducks to spectre who can kill them all at once.
It was our victory 10 minutes after.
The cocky luna who was the cocky SF in this game spurted out a sore loser remark which should be beaten up by this teammates IMO. Quote SF "Worst Team Ever"
Our prize for the competition : Walmart gift card + extras
but no doubt the grand prize was beating Ped-ro's team
Below is the picture of where Team Roy sat : From left to right,
Kar Leong, Wooi Hau, Eu Roy and myself (Team Laptops)

It'z HALLOWEEN!!!
ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR~~~~!!!
It's just a few more hours away to the Halloween party.
Being a cheap college student that I am, I don't have the stomach to spend $$ on a new costume thus this year I'll be going as something original (as last year which all I did was spend a few bucks on some accessories).
So what will I be this year? Honestly I'm still clueless and still thinking.
Right now, the props I have are :
2 tubes of fake blood
1 Ninja Katana
1 Machete
1 white face powder
A wardrobe full of my clothings
What I intend to get later :
1 BLACK makeup powder
-unknown-
Well, look forward to pictures coming in soon after the party.

Guitar Hero World Tour dissapointment (Delayed)
Oct 26th, I was ready to purchase the band kit for Guitar Hero World Tour but had to post pone it since I was too busy with Malaysian Cultural Night 08.
Next day, I did some research and found out from numerous forums that the game(band kit for PS2) was delayed. Though I could go out and buy the xbox360/ps3/Wii versions but I don't have those consoles and I'm currently out of $$ to purchase new console at the moment.
So when can I obtain it? November 14th/16th.
2 more weeks again =.=

Wonders of Medicine
When you're feeling cold, having a fever, headache or trying to relief the pain of that knife stabbed behind your back, the wonders of science has provided us with drugs that reliefs us from the torture of life.
There are various kinds of medicines, usually we are given diluted doses (weak) rather than the concentrated ones which could probably cure us in a matter of hours. Reason behind that? Think of it as taking panadols(aspirins), usually, one would take just 1 tablet or two. Some might even go over the recommended dosage because it'll cure the headache in a shorter amount of time. What about these antibiotics? I recalled once receiving enough supply to last me for 3 days rather than the regular 5 days for the same sickness. If such is true for the commoner, what about celebrities or world leaders? How much are they actually taking in to stay healthy?
Say some leader of a country falls sick. He is then given the BEST treatment the world of medicine has to offer. If you noticed, you hardly see them falling sick from a common flu. How is their body holding up from all these medications? Isn't too much of a goodthing(drugs...) bad for their health?

Patriotism? Angst? Hate?
A thought to ponder,
Do you love your country enough to mention the disadvantages of it, or do you hate your country enough to mention the disadvantages of it?
Do you love your country enough to mention the disadvantages of it, or do you hate your country enough to mention the disadvantages of it?

Grand Theft Auto Saves Lives!!!
"She just knew, from playing 'Grand Theft Auto.' She saw on there that when a car rolls over, it can blow up. She knew that could happen to us"
Basically, this kid decides to save his parents from a turned over jeep because of a video game....
I say bullshit. You don't need a reason to rescue your parents from a turned over jeep....
We've seen many swords stabbing at how video games play a part in violence. It's good to see a positive comment about it... but this is an act of desperation.
Only thing I learnt from GTA, make your way with a prostitute, then kill her for your money back.

Sunburn Woes
When I got the sunburn, it has been a painful experience for the past 2 days.
Initially, I thought the worst that could happen would be that when I sleep, it'll hurt like hell.... then today, while preparing for classes... I realized that I can't carry my messenger bag on my shoulders as it felt like a strap of burning red charcoal pressing on my skin....
Well... another 3 days til the weekend......

Celebrating Merdeka via Canoeing
31st Aug, Sunday...
First and foremost, MEDEKA!!!
Lesson : Jimatlah Duit Untuk Benda Yang Berfaedah (Save money for a better purpose)
PS : I don't think this year's commercial has much impact unless it's sending a message indirectly saying "Stop spending tax money on corruption" to its projected audience.
And on this day, what did I do? Color myself in red by getting sunburn while canoeing...
Lesson : Always wear a sunblock whenever you're going out under the sun for more than 4 hours in the hot afternoon.

Nightmares and Fears
A few of you might've known that I've got this 'unique' fear. That's right, fear of fishes.
Though, you notice that I do eat fish and find that ironic. I think what scares me most is a fish's head. That doesn't leave out the abdominal portion of the fish as I tend to jitter at the sight of it.
My family members know, whenever we eat out at a chinese restaurant and order fish, I always shift the plate so that the fish's head points else where. But, the body of a FULLY cooked fish doesn't scare me much.
What about sushi? Yes, it's fish meat but you don't actually see anything that resembles the fish one bit. It's just a slab of meat much like your typical poultry meats.
So when and why did I develop this fear? I can only think of three reasons period.
1) I used to eat fish eyes. Yes, use my lil 5 year old fingers and dig out their eyes and suck em til all that's left is the middle core.
2)I tend to play with fish alot and brought them out of water. Seeing them flip helplessly. Pity could've turned into fear.....
3)I'm just too lazy to clean up aquariums and handle fishes so I came up with an excuse but turned to reality....

As consumers, we can't help but compare one product to another similar product. In this case, I'm taking our very own monopolizing, money grabbing TMnut's Screamyx.
Right, from the picture above dated 25th August 2008, I'd like to draw attention to the 4mbps package. RM268 per month. That's about USD 80 a month. I've done some digging around, and found that the MAX a consumer had to pay per month for internet (8MBPS twice the speed of what TMnut offers) is about USD 60 a month.
Now don't we Malaysians feel even more screwed over?

Discrimination, Racism, and Facts?
What determines if a person is a racist/discriminates?
Take this example,
When I play dota. After countless games, I've come to a conclusion that 99.9% of players from China are leavers. This isn't a fact I'm making up to discriminate China, it's a fact that they've shown and proven to me. Yet, I've been called racist by some because I do not have proof of it. My argument is based upon my own experience with no official records.
So am I discriminating/ being racist or just laying out the facts?

New Place, New Aparment, New Internet, New Neighbours, New Internet
So I moved in to a place I can finally call 'home' after being homeless since May 12th (I think). It's not readily furnished as Frederiksen Court(empty) but it's no doubt larger and has a better location for food and groceries.
About a 15 minute walk, 5 minutes cycle, 10 minutes bus ride (including walking to the bus stop and on the bus, not including time needed to wait for the bus), I'd say it's fairly close to campus compared to other locations. I'm quite happy with it... though I'll probably not like it in the winter.
One of the necessities is high speed internet. Luckily for us, a 2mbps line is provided. The speeds was constant and stable the first 2 days I moved in.... until I heard some thumping on the floor above....... then internet here has become unstable and irregular. At times it can be good, at times it can be worst than Malaysia's very own streamyx. I was so eager to get back to the states to get away from Streamyx and found out that streamyx had followed me in a different form. Anyway, I'm guessing it's the neighbours' upstairs that's hogging up the internet causing majority of the building to experience good ol' Malaysian broadband.
So what to do? I can't play dota smoothly, I can't surf the internet fast.... time to get a new dedicated modem for ourselves. At only $20 a month for a whoppin 8MBPS (that's 8 times faster than Malaysia's crappy streamyx and RM30 cheaper than what we're paying TMNUT) without any throttling! TMNUT cheap? I don't think so.
Another thing I must mention, the internet here uses cable lines (the ones you plug into the back of your TV). TMNUT should've thought of something like that... but I guess they decided that normal copperlines are sufficient enough for them to profit off Malaysians.....

Chicago's O'hare Airport is close to Hell
On my journey here, I had to board 4 planes.
1st, KLIA to Changi Airport (Singapore)
2nd, Changi to Narita Airport (Tokyo)
Note : There was a baby beside me through the 7 hour flight
3rd, Narita to O'hare (Chicago)
Note : Another baby beside me... for 12 hours
4th, O'hare to Des Moines
Note : Yet another baby passenger travelling beside me
3 out of 4 flights with crying babies~joy
but that's just the tip of the iceberg...
Hell began when I touched down to Chicago at 4:20pm local time.
Upon reaching customs, I was greeted with a line comparable to the great wall of china x10
Gotta line up either ways. My stomach was aching, the line kept growing. Can't turn back to head for the toilet now.....
1 hour later..... I'm finally half way there........ Biatch, another 1 hour and it's finally my turn... BUT, the inspector is slow, always leaving his posts. ARGHH!!!
2 hours and 30 mins prior to landing it's finally my turn only to be told rudely by the inspector (I guess all the inspectors are rude.... indirectly saying "GET OUT IMMIGRANTS!!!") to refill my form.
Well, if they had made the form more user friendly I wouldn't be refilling it. Especially the part where it says "For government official ONLY" (they wanted me to fill that side as well)
Finally I've gotten through customs, looking back, the line was still as long as when I first reached. Always thought that they could've gotten more staff to keep things moving along faster... but no..... people were moving at about 5 people per 2 minutes.... and there's about 300 over people in line. I would've taken a picture of the scene if cameras wasn't prohibited in the area. I'm just glad I'm off and away.... people were getting impatient. Many were trying to cut in. A fight almost broke out. Tensions were high. Many mothers were on the brink of fainting while carrying their babies...
So, my 4 hour break in O'hare has been reduced to 3.5 hour of panicking in line hoping I could make it for my connecting flight. Efficiency at its best brought to you by Chicago O'hare International Airport.
Well it's about 7pm... my connecting flight departs at 8.08pm and boarding begins at 7.38pm
Like many before and after me, we're running looking for our bags which was supposed to be collected about 3 hours ago. Upon collecting the bags, I had to run from one end of the terminal to the other.... From my past experience... there was gonna be another long line through security check. I was expecting the worst; I'd might have to board another plane probably the next day...
Lucky for me, the line wasn't as long as I expected and made it in time.

Haze yet again 2008
It's that time of the year again.
Thanks to the hot weather and our friends from Indonesia who couldn't bother to put out fires or to those that start fires, the haze is back again in Malaysia for it's annual visit.
Every year we'll experience this. Every year we complain. Every year I'll play this song.
I gotta add as well. I've been sick with a bad flu and cough the past few days. It's not just me as many are falling sick as well thanks to the haze.
Ribuan Terima Kasih Indonesia (Many Thanks to Indonesia)

Bye Blueserver
I'm not sure when, but I'll say it's 2nd August 2008.
Blueserver v3 has finally closed its doors.
Being a member since blueserverV2, around 2004, I've met many people. Made many friends, Pwned many noobs.
Among the clans I've joined (As far as I can remember)
In Blueserver V2:
Clan JPD
Clan JPD2 (Because we screwed up the first one)
In Blueserver V3:
Clan JPD2
Clan JPD
Clan JPD3 (because we screwed up making the other two....)
Clan FAN (Friends Across the Natio)
Clan xTc
So what else can I say? My last game in blueserver was somewhere in the first week of August 2007.
Met many noobs, met many pros, but it's time to move on.
I'm now playing in Garena (after moving from Battle.net games) but during my 3+ years with blueserver.
Thanks for the memories. Goodbye

It's not that cold after all....
Last year, I complained about how cold things were in Ames. Looking back, I can't believe I said that and that I should be shot for making that remark...
http://kyoske86.blogspot.com/2007/09/freezing.html
"The wind is about 33km/h at some point of the day. To give you a perspective on how strong that is, imagine a wind blowing at you and you felt like it could push you back if you were on a rollerblade/skateboard. Now add that wind power with the temperature of 3 degrees celcius. Yes, it's THAT cold."
Yea.... brrr~~ Apparently I haven't experienced the chilling weather of -28C and winds up to 40km/hr... (back in January).

All.YOUR.Electronic.Devices.Are.Belong.To.Us
Right....here's the source for my outburst
Now let me summarize, DHS (Department of Homeland Security) for the United States announced on August 1st 2008 that they are implementing a new system where they are able to confiscate any electronic devices belonging to tourists going in and out of the country/ border, indefinitely.... on a random basis.
A rundown on the definition of an 'electronic device' by them~
"An electronic device is defined as "any device capable of storing information in digital or analog form" including hard drives, compact discs, DVDs, flash drives, portable music players, cell phones, pagers, beepers, and videotapes."
Right. So they're saying that you could be bringing in or out information that could threaten the US. I say bullshit.
If they have all the time in the world to thought this up, I would assume they'd be smart enough to think that this method of 'security' as a MAJOR FLAW. Yeah that's right.
The INTERNET.
Yea, if I wanna destroy the US, I'd take the plane all the way from ****** all the way to the states, waiting in line, sitting for **** hours in the air plane just to deliver an all important message OR I could go online and send that message in an instant.
I mentioned something regarding the iPod as an iBomb in my previous blog about how an iPod was believed to be rigged up as a bomb. Seems that 'scare' is going on again.
PS : It was not mentioned when this will be implemented. I'm hoping it hasn't and wont be cuz it's just a waste of tax money (Which I paid as well while I was working in the states and buying all their TAXABLE products/services)

Memories (Cursed by the toilet)
Yea, I was reading some of my posts in the old blog and found this......
At the LRT station, as i was done using the toilet (to take a pee incase you're asking...), after i was done.... I washed my hands and this guy walked up to me.... "May i know the time?" he asked. I showed him my watch... He then looked at me funny.... "Where do you live?", "What is your name?" .......
From that point onwards.. i know this is bad... He's probably the Micheal Jackson of Malaysia... though he speaks like an Iranian, looks like an Iranian too (no offence to the straight Iranian people).
I kept quiet pretending i dont know english.. he was puzzled and so was I. Then later.. he asked.."Do you wanna have fun?".... OKAY.... WTF are you trying to say??!?!. Before I let him say another word, I walked out of the toilet... As i looked behind, he was pointing at his zipper...
Thank god I wasnt molested.
Bad memories indeed. Thankfully that was the first and hopefully the last time such thing happen to me

Oily business in Malaysia (TMnut bashing)
Referring to my old blog post,(March 4th 2006) we can see that oil prices back then increased.
Now look at their excuses. Yes, I've mentioned it then but I would like to remind myself and everyone else how they run the country like they're reading off a manual.
"We suggest the nation to bear with this and spend wisely" - Someone from the higher ups
"....we suggest usage of public transportations"
Sounds familiar? Yeap.... that's what they said this year after the price increased early June 2008.
Well, similarities with TMnut's customer service indeed. After all... TMnut used to be controlled under the government.
I also mentioned,
Let's say this goes on for 5 years~ our KL skies will still be covered in grey smoke. Probably worse (darkish grey). Why?There are no cars~ and the taxi service probably went out of bussiness.
Busses. Apparently thanks to the promotion of public transportations, the whole of KL is jammed with busses in every corner. Bus drivers fighting around like how the taxi drivers we know today.
Not only that~ we know that busses create more pollution than cars~ Thus explains why they air isnt getting any cleaner than it is now~
So~ kudos! We have more busses in the future and in the end~ bus prices will increase and people will have to start using bicycles all over again.
Right. Current conditions of Malaysia's public transportation hasn't changed abit. More people (yea Ive said it 2 years ago and I shall say it again), are using public transportations. More people are complaining. For crying out loud! If you're gonna increase oil prices, you should've expected people will opt to use public transportations for a cheaper alternative to save money.
Another situation that reminds me of TMnut. Screamyx lagging, screamyx's bandwidth being used up by users. DAMN, if you promise us 1mbps broadband and expect about 100,000 people to sign up, at least ensure that there's enough bandwidth to hold up to 120,000.
Also, after many complaints, what do they do? Throttle us. Yea. Thanks a lot TMnut. If the government follows, I predict in the near future, the prices for public transportation will increase (much like how tolls were put up almost EVERYWHERE to reduce cars on the road).
A few years ago, the government sponsored about RM1.6BILLION to upgrade TMnut's internet services. Now, no update.
Last month, the SAME news was published with the same amount. I find this wierd. I shall leave all speculations to whoever who may read this.
Oh, by the way. I have to mention that I did a research(with a report) about this issue in Malaysia recently(TMnut's throttling) .
I can't wait til an ideal Malaysia is born without all these troubles..... 2020? Not at the rate we're going.....

McDonalds of the past
Remember the time when you were once a kid (for those born in 1980s or very early 90s), you watch TV gleaming with joy after watching... a commercial of McDonalds and friends.
Looking at how the handkerchief magically floats up the golden arch. How magically the broom sweeps by itself. How alive those burgers were you'd actually thought it's alive. Yeah those were they days.
Those were also the days when the existence of other McDonald characters, such as the Hamburglar. I wish I could find those toys again but unfortunately I assumed my parents had thrown them away T_T
Or how about these play doh sets? Somehow I recalled myself eating the playdohs for some reason and I hope that's just a dream... Thinking of it reminded my tongue of the weird taste...
Also besides these playdoh sets, there's something similar to this but you use real food, yes, REAL food to make your very own crappy mini mcdonald products.
There's a juice maker (pour in juice to tank and put cup below, turn tap), burger maker(bread cutter that cuts Gardenia bread to circles, beef/chicken patty maker that supposedly minces the COOKED meat so you can put it to the patty maker that shapes the mince meat to patties) and etc.
Well, the closest thing I could find was this mcFlurry maker. (Though the real thing looks more similar to the play doh sets above)

2 months in Malaysia
Ahhh Malaysia, 2 months here.....
What have I learnt and experienced?
-You don't miss Malaysia as much as when you're overseas
-Malaysian food when smacked right infront of your face doesn't make it appetizing or amazing as you've imagined while you were overseas (Takde OOMPH)
-95% of your friends are overseas studying or too busy working
-You rot at home tolerating with crappy broadband service (Screamyx) brought to you by the best (and worst) ISP in Malaysia, TMnut.
-You return home only to see that in 2 days, petrol prices increased from RM1.90 to RM2.70
-You return home only to see that the US dollars you brought along is not enough thanks to the rising fuel prices
-You try to play dota only to find out that you disconnect more frequently than an otters banging clams on rocks to break it open.
-You call TMnut at least once every two days only to find from other sources that they were undergoing a one month 'upgrading' process.
-You return home to see more political drama unfolding which has more plot twists and chinese dramas
-You return home to find out that one of your dogs vision has deteriorated T_T
-You return home to smell the fresh air of Indonesia in Malaysia
-You return home to go out with friends only to find out that your car is no longer there
-You miss US more because their standard of living is higher and you can purchase items online with ease
-I had more fun in Ames for the last 2 weeks I was there than the 2 months I was in Malaysia
-I've also remembered why I hate KLCC TGV (my legs are too long for the seat.... I'm lucky I chose the corner seats)
-Taking public transportations just after the fuel price hike is like a battle for survival. Thankfully I'm tall (the tallest) enough to breath above everyones head.
-KL roads have about a 40~70% deficit in car users
-Malaysia has about a 40%~70% decrease in car accidents
-KL roads have about a 40%~70% increase in motorbike users
-Malaysia has about a 40%~70% increase in motorbike accidents
-Malaysians have become more kiam siap(kedekut, selfish) than usual
-Malaysian newspapers (particularly 'The Star') can still write crap stories about how fuel prices are gonna increase the price of their 'Roti Canai'.... SERIOUSLY, WTFH
-'The Star' writes about how hawkers are keeping their prices as usual (Yea that's news...)
-Malaysian newspapers are all LIES or FABRICATED STORIES. Thus the only thing worthwhile to read are 'Thumbnails", "Comments" , "InTech", and comics.
Well... there are more but those are what I could come up with in the past 10 mins or so...
07/08/08 Leaving KL
08/08/08 Reaching Ames
08/08/08 Olympic Games in Beijing

Bionic Bra : Generate electricity from bouncing breasts....
Right.. this is newest addition of weird bras in my blog.
You've seen solar bikinis, ring tone breasts enlargement, and now you shall see.....
BIONIC BRA!!!!source : http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/gadgets-and-tech/features/bionic-bra-victorias-circuit-862875.html
Well what does it do? Apparently when the user bounces their twins, the mechanism takes the kinetic energy from the bounces and changes it to ipod juice (electricity).
I didn't really read the whole article but I'm guessing that it should be able to power up other electronic devices. I can imagine line-up :
-AAA bratteries
-AA bratteries
-C bratteries
-D bratteries
-coming soon* car bratteries
How about their customer service?
Consumer A: Your product isn't working well. I've been joggin for hours with my ipod turned off and the batteries are still dead.
Technician : You're flat. We have a special discount on Bionic Bra buyers to get breast implants for a low cost of $$$$$$
Consumer B : I'm gonna sue you!!! Now everytime I breast feed my child he gets shocked!
Technician : The instructions that come with the product warned that it is only to be used on electronic devices.
Consumer C : I've got a D-cup, yet my iPod ain't chargin' up.
Technician : Did you try jumping higher and faster?
Consumer D : YOUR PRODUCT MADE MY BOOBS SAGGY!!!!
Technician : You'll harness more energy that way. We've already mentioned in one of our slogans... "The longer you use it, the more energy you'll get out of it in the long run"

Goodbye Freddy 7238
aH~~ Freddy 7238, home of myself, brian, sky and lanyeng (and yeegin and michelle).
It's kinda sad, we've finally moved out..... but are now homeless for 4 days. 4 days til we move in to our new sanctuary. 4 days of fun crashing at hyland.
Looking at pictures and videos of our empty apartment and finally realizing that 'We can't go back to where we used to belong' is not easy to swallow in. In due time.
For now, goodbye Freddy 7238

Initial D Arcade in the US!!!
It's been a while since I last played InitialD. Last time I saw or played the game was back in Malaysia. Upon reaching here, I searched for a place that has the game. Locally here in Ames, I know we have 2 arcades; Grand Mall and MU Underground.
Grand Mall only has some decent games but their best game is Time Crisis 3. Everything else is all about early 2000 or late 90s. As for MU, they have 80's games with their latest game probably DDR (something). Everything feels old school like the games played while I was in high school.
Disappointed at the arcades here in Ames, I was hoping I'd find one in Minnesota's Mall, nothing (I tried looking by walking....maybe that's why). Even Chicago let me down (because we didn't really explore for arcade).
Having all hopes lost... last night was an accident. I was in Jordan's Creek (2nd time... WISHED I found this sooner) and was doing some shopping there. When we're done we still wanted to kill some time so decided watch a movie, "Forbidden Kingdom".
[Spoiler for the movie : Mr. T, "NO FOO!"]
Outside the cinema, there it was. In a dark corner facing the entrance of the arcade. Seeing it made my heart beat faster, senses became numb, adrenalin pumping in... I NEED TO PLAY THIS GAME AGAIN.
Hrmm, two tokens which costs 25c each? Standard price. I don't care at this moment. I just want to play. My first game was against this guy(who was with a few friends that plays the game as well) which seemed good. Played with him and almost won (heck I don't have an upgraded car!). It was neck and neck from start to finish so I could say that my skills hasn't deteriorated.
Then, a game with Stan.. who had a better car. Almost over took me a few times but obviously I'm the better driver =p
It was time for the movie after that match. Movie movie movie.... OUT!! Time for another game!
This time I tried to play with Stan again, but... machine somehow screwed up and we didn't get to play with each other. I wanted to challenge someone. After waiting a few rounds, I found a challenger. Raced with him on the 2nd easiest map in the game. Beat him by 400m. [Show off : He had a card, I didn't] Glorious day.
Then, Stan and Sky duked off. Stan started off pretty well... Sky, crashed in every turning.... for the first 5 or 6 turns. Stan... HOW COULD YOU LET SKY WIN!?
Being only about 45 mins away from Ames... I think it's worth the trip occasionally to beat up some noobs and show them their place =p

To drop or not to drop ChE 356?
Note : ChE 356 is Transport Phenomena
Well.. even though I got a really.... REALLY bad score in my last exams. I decided to stay on. Figured that I could bring things up. Well things seem to be alright and I'm able to do most of the homeworks by myself... until the dreaded homework 9 came along.
How bad is it? Take this into perspective.
Average time for me to complete regular difficulty homeworks = 3~5hours (because I suck)
Average time for some of my classmates to complete regular difficulty homeworks = About an hour or less
Time it takes for some of my classmates to complete homework 9 = 7 hours
I'm stumped. Decided to give up for now as I expect even more horrendous problems to come.
On Wednesday, I couldn't turn anything in. It was a first time. I'm lost. Hopeless. In despair. At that point. I was very determined to drop the subject. I have never dropped any subjects halfway before....
Decided to meet up with my Prof. to talk things over with my decision. He requested that I try the exam on Friday (Tomorrow!). Trying to give myself another chance, I took his advice.
It ain't easy going back on a decision. A part of me says, "Give it up". Another part of me says "You must ace this!". I don't know. I've been a hardcore procrastinator since I could remember.
I had a dream last night about tomorrow's exam. I would fail. I would quit and leave all my problems for the future. Is this what I want?

Remembering the good times(and bad) Ezone cybercafe
Remember these logos?
If you've been a gamer and or a frequent cyber cafe go-er, you would've known about Ezone(MidValley OR LowYat) by now.
Below are links of what their main website used to be
http://web.archive.org/web/20051119154559/http://www.ampmezone.com/
http://web.archive.org/web/20030329150405/http://www.ampmezone.com/
Ahhh yes, it was the year 2002. That's when it first opened its doors just right outside of MidValley megamall. My pals (Kelvin/Martin/Hadi/Justin/Patrick/Adrian) and myself would almost without fail to pay a whooping RM6 an hour (which is rather expensive considering we'd usually pay RM2 for an hour elsewhere). Though the hefty price, the computers were the best (at that time).
If I recall, they were using :
-Pentium 4 2.0ghz
-GeForce4 graphic cards
-SUPER COOL LCD screens (17" I think)
-Headsets
-Medium range keyboard and mouse
Still, we felt that these aren't worth the price of RM6 per hour.... til we saw a sign that says,
"FREE UNLIMITED DRINKS!!!"
Eyes lit up in some of us (Cough*cough)
Taking this opportunity get our money's worth, some of us after a 5 hour counter-strike marathon (which obviously was as famous Dota back then) could've been diagnosed with diabetes from the amount of drinks we drank (coke/lemon tea/etc).
Gotta add that they serve food as well. But they cost 50% more than the price you could get them for elsewhere.
Still, another reason for this high class cyber cafe (at that time) was the interior design. Upon entering you'll notice the layout of the PCs and decorations are from the mind of a very generously paid designer. Blue lights illuminate the steps of the stairs heading upstairs, a stone garden with fountain, Japanese seating PCs, automatic doors and such. Yea obviously these are common in cyber cafes now (Except for the fountain), but you have to give credit to them for being the first to introduce such designs to Malaysia.
About 1 year later..... things doesn't look so good.
Equipment that SHOULD be replaced such as:
-Broken PCs
-Outdated games
-Broken Headsets
-Faulty keyboard and mouse (Missing keys in keyboards)
-Drink machine
-TOILETS (god damn if I had a camera phone then, I would post it here and show you guys how horrid the toilets are. It looks pretty on the outside, foul on the inside)
Well, me and my friends still visit the branch at MidValley but kept it to a minimum as we found another place; AM/PM Ezone LowYat. Right in the heart of KL's Golden Triangle, lies probably the only cyber cafe there. Of the things to do there, (arcade/shopping/manga/games/anime/girls) heading over to the cyber cafe was a must to pass time.
Hyped as the biggest/largest cyber cafe in Malaysia at that time.... there isn't ANYONE in there. Though the price has been reduced to about RM4.50 an hour. Business still isn't improving. (Duhh.... you give us FAULTY equipments and a toilet which kills your customers upon entering I don't see how business could improve).
So here we are, 2003, the year where Ezone took a downfall.
Online forums were flaming about how Ezone is the WORST cyber cafe in Malaysia.
$$$$ for crappy equipment.
Both branches are about exactly the same condition. Unbearable. Yet I still enter occasionally (because there isnt anywhere else to go to pass the time).
In the year 2006 (or late 2005) Ezone closed down.
I've found a new place though, "ExtremeGamers" (If i'm not mistaken) at SS2. Everything was great much like the first time Ezone appeared, though.... a year later it had taken the same path as Ezone; no maintenance and crappy toilets.
If only these people could learn from T-bun

Homeless 2008
It seems that we have procrastinated too long/much.
We're almost homeless for the Fall 08 semester as all apartments/houses are taken.
Our only choice left is off campus with bad locations (no buses/ isolated). Rawr....
PS : Our contract in Frederiksen Court is expiring...

Mod success!!! With consequences...
I've modded my K800 to K810 firmware. Apparently, it's better so I did it.
The result?
-Losing ALL my contact list.......
Gotta hunt numbers again...
I fear that since most of the numbers are gone... I'll forget alot of people so... do send me a msg with your phone number so i can re-add it

MSN Viruses?! & I'm BACK!!
After 4 months, I'm finally back. What happened? I'd rather not explain.
Apparently, there's a MSN messenger virus/spyware going around sending links to random websites to everyone in your contact list if you were to be infected.
So, what caused this?
1) You installed a malicious software/plugin for MSN
2) You clicked on the link and installed the software from the link thus infecting yourself
3) A friend sent you a file and you accepted it without thinking. That file happened to be a virus
How to fix this?
Install the three programs below (They're all free)
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/ (AVG anti virus FREE)
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/download-free-anti-rootkit/us/frt/0 (AVG anti-rootkit FREE)
http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-2007/3000-8022_4-10045910.html?part=dl-ad-aware&subj=dl&tag=top5&cdlpid=10045910 (Ad-Aware personal FREE)
If non of the above works. You'll have to start using google and search for other solutions.
How to prevent this?
1) Don't be so gullible. Just because they are your friends, be certain of what they're sending you
2) Don't install random plugins for MSN. MSN is already good the way it is....
3) Don't accept everything your friend sends you without asking him/her what it is.
4) ALWAYS ask what your friend is sending to you before you click/ accept anything
That's it for now... back to finishing off my homework..

-It's not a virus. Apparently you've been stupid enough to type in your msn username and password to a website/someone/etc and now it's using your information to sign in to your msn messenger using a bot to send the links to your contact lists.
-TO FIX THIS, change your password and don't be so gullible next time
Apparently, there's a MSN messenger virus/spyware going around sending links to random websites to everyone in your contact list if you were to be infected.
So, what caused this?
1) You installed a malicious software/plugin for MSN
2) You clicked on the link and installed the software from the link thus infecting yourself
3) A friend sent you a file and you accepted it without thinking. That file happened to be a virus
How to fix this?
Install the three programs below (They're all free)
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/ (AVG anti virus FREE)
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/download-free-anti-rootkit/us/frt/0 (AVG anti-rootkit FREE)
